WHITE WINES: White Blends

South Estelle 2007

South Estelle 2007

A mix of 40% Riesling, 35% Gewurztraminer and 25% Pinot Gris, Estelle Thompson was the real name of the Tasmanian born, almond-eyed movie star, Merle Oberon.
Full of rumour and controversy, her life story reads like a film script.

This exotic and enticingly aromatic white wine is a fitting tribute to one of Tasmania’s most enduring characters.

It is a bright mid-straw with an array of aromas including nutmeg and clove spiciness, ripe pear and hints of lemon zest. The palate is generously structured with flavours of
pear juice, a touch of spice and a lingering musky character on a finish that is crisp and cleansing.
